Abstract

Unmanned aerial vehicles are used now in different spheres of economy from agriculture to inspection of industrial facilities. In view of the increased demand for this type of service, the quality of the data received has become a question. One of the most important factors affecting the quality of the data is the efficiency of self-calibration of non-metric digital cameras. The criteria have been defined for evaluating the effectiveness and feasibility of self-calibration for a particular photogrammetric network, which determine the choice of the optimal parameters of the model of systematic error images. Basing on modeling, network mapping identifies the main geometrical parameters of the networks, providing reliable calculating elements of internal orientation of digital non-metric cameras. It was revealed that it is impossible to perform full calibration of the digital camera using the method of self-calibrations on production networks of phototriangulation, with a small height difference. An example of three variants of calibration of the camera based on materials of field calibration stand fixture is given and the analysis of their results is performed. The parameters of the field calibration range are given, according to which the parameters of calibration of digital cameras of unmanned aerial vehicles can be reliably determined.
