THE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM PROMOTED BY SMES –BASIS OF THE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
The sustainable tourism implies the development of all the forms of tourism, the touristic management and marketing that should respect the natural, social and economic integrity of the environment by ensuring the exploitation of the natural and cultural resources for the future generations as well. The competitive development of the touristic products lead to the creation of new jobs, in a direct manner – in the area of the production and distribution of touristic services – as well as in an indirect manner, through the multiplication effect upon the related industries. There is recognition that small and medium-sized tourism enterprises can have an important impact on economic development and poverty reduction in the region. However, before these enterprises can be seen as effective, there is a need for ongoing development as well as financial and technical support.
