KINEMATIC SURVEYING A NEW CONCEPT FOR MONITORING THE STABILITY OF MINING CONSTRUCTION
Abstract
The branch of mining surveying science and engineering that uses measurements made in the field, and also subsequent geometric constructions, as a basis for the study of the structure of a deposit, the spatial arrangement of mine workings, and the processes of stresses in rock and the earth’s surface in connection with mining work. It also reflects the dynamics of the production process of a mining enterprise. Mine surveying work is done by means of mine surveying instruments. Data from mine surveying are synthesized in mine documentation, which is a set of diagrams produced by geometric projection. Mine surveying is a composite science that is closely related to many scientific disciplines: mathematics, engineering, physics, astronomical geodesy, geology and mineralogy, geological exploration, the technology of exploitation of deposits, and construction. Monitoring the stability of mining construction safety cannot be conceived except by ensuring a careful geometric monito ring in static, cvasistatic or cinematic regime of the execution and time behavior of the performed mining structures. In this way, new methods have appeared for ensuring the geometry, taking into account the perturbing factors – from among which, the main one is the action of the wind. Situated at the border between structural safety – meteorology – surveying, the new domain (Kinematic Surveying) is therefore an interdisciplinary one. The purpose of the paper is to present this new chapter of surveying and its role in structural safety. In this paper we present the aspects that have been solved until now, and what else should be done such that this new concept would become a concep t on its own. The conclusions of the paper will emphasize the fact that only Kinematic Surveying, though it has a very strong interdisciplinary character, represents now a development of classic surveying methods in the cinematic space for monitoring the stability of mining structures.
