LONG-TIME MEASUREMENTS OF REINFORCEMENT DUE TO AIR POLLUTION CORROSION ON REINFORCED GIRDER BRIDGE
Abstract
The concrete bridges are inseparable part of the traffic infrastructure not only in Slovakia. The real bridge structures are affected by environmental conditions in which they are. The environmental loads cause the degradation of concrete and reinforcement in time. The corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete due to severe environment is the phenomenon that highly affects the reliability and durability of reinforced concrete bridge structures. The diagnostic of real state of existing bridges is very important due to actual degradation and corrosion. In the frame of research activities of Department of Structures and Bridges, Civil Engineering Faculty, Univerzity of ?ilina, the real bridge structure is observed few years. It is girder reinforced concrete bridge in village Kol?rovice near town ?ilina in Slovakia. The results of diagnostic focused on reinforcement corrosion are presented. The reinforcement corrosion is measured last three years (2015, 2016 and 2017), but first measurements were done in 2005 in the frame of previous researches. The paper deals with reinforcement corrosion and its influence on the moment resistance of the existing reinforced concrete bridge.
