Abstract

The main objective of the Natura 2000 network set up at European Union level is to improve or restore the conservation status of species and habitats of Community interest, taking into account the economic, social and cultural characteristics of each Member State. The selection of the study area was determined by the anthropogenic and natural pressures exerted on the protected natural area ROSCI0434 Siretul Mijlociu, one of eleven Natura 2000 sites have been declared along the Siret River, Romania and the need to assess ecosystems so as to be continuously monitor their productive capacity, to give them the opportunity to provide specific ecosystem services indefinitely, an absolute necessity of the economic development model based on the principles of the green economy. The physical impact of environmental quality changes and the assessment of potential impact activities in the area were estimated in relation to the Conservation Objectives set for the protected natural area and the parameters associated with the environmental factor water.
