EVALUATION OF THE SECURITY QUALITY OF SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCTS CONTAINING PYROTECHNIC ARTICLES DESTINED FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR
Abstract
The identification and analysis of the dangers of accidental initiation/detonation of pyrotechnic devices with a technical purpose in the automotive field containing pyrotechnic articles of category P1 is carried out on the basis of the results obtained following the performance of specialized tests according to the applicable reverential SE EN ISO 14451. The evaluation of the safety quality of these types of products is of particular interest both for occupational safety in their manufacturing process because their untimely triggering can endanger the life and health of workers and in the field of urban transport through the dangerous exposure of drivers and or passengers to the uncontrollable effects of detonation with the generation of thermal and dynamic effects as well as the emission of toxic reaction products that can affect the human component and or the vehicle. The paper highlights the way to analyse and evaluate the effects generated by the accidental release of category P1 pyrotechnic devices following their exposure to different external stimuli for their untimely initiation, thus simulating different real danger situations.
