SOLAR SYSTEM DEMENSIONING IN THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC
Abstract
Recent renewable energy sources utilization in the Slovak republic represents only 2.6 \% from the total primary energy sources consumption. 27\% of the Slovakian technically utilizable renewable energy sources potential is used, so there still remain enormous unused potential, which comprise 115 775 TJ per year. Technically utilizable Slovakian renewable sources potential is estimated, based on the existed analysis, at 112 636 TJ per year (or 136 421 TJ per year, if we consider hydroelectric power plants with the output higher than 10 MW also). It is a potential, which can be utilized by installing of the available technologies, however limited by the legislative, administrative and ecology barriers or restrictions. Total Slovak republic technically utilizable solar energy potential is determined according to the global radiation reaching the exposed surface that is placed in the 30° angle inclination towards the south direction. Average annual radiation at the area of Slovakia is 1055 kWh/ m2 per year (of that approximately 800 kWh/m2 is reached in the months April –September). Provided solar thermal collectors application of 60 \%, total utilized energy from the radiation would reach the value of 633 kWh /m2 per year. However based on the current experiences this data is approaching the value of 500 kWh /m2. [1] According to the current changes in the Slovakian energy department the article point out the possibilities of the solar energy utilization in the sector of buildings. It analyses the potential conditions of the solar collectors’ realization in the climatic conditions of the SR.
