Abstract

In the production of electricity in the Thermal Power Plants, coal is one of the fuels. After burning coal, is resulting large amounts of waste in the form of slag and ash stored in ponds. After completing the submission of slag and ashes in ponds they have to rentered in the natural circuit. Soil of tailing ponds has a small grain size and is permeable, the structure of ponds are landscaped with irrigation systems and drainage water. Also soils have a low nutrient content and contain certain chemicals that could affect the way for development of certain types of vegetation. Because the chemical composition of soil in ponds, reintegration in natural circuit raises serious issues regarding the vegetation which is to be used. For this we plan to study how vine plant is developing in the ground of tailings ponds of Thermal Power Plants. Vine plants are plants able to penetrate into the soil to depth of 6 meters, although most of them are at a depth of 30-80 cm. The requirements allow the vine to cultivate on the soil, which often do not fit other cultures. Thus, there are cases of successful cultivation of grapes on nearly all soils. In this study we will study the development of the vine in the soil came from ponds of the Thermal Power Plants and we will evaluate level of minerals present in plant.
