AN EMPLOYMENT OF MATHEMATICAL TOOLKIT FOR ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION PROCESSING DURING HEAVY METALS POLLUTION MONITORING IN PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO ALMATY CITY-S ATMOSPHERE
Abstract
Dust and heavy metals pollution is the first-priority problem of Almaty city. The city is located at the foot of the Tien Shan Mountains in the Southeast of the Republic of Kazakhstan and has the following geographical coordinates: 77 E (east longitude) and 430 N (north latitude). As long as existing pollution monitoring system in Almaty city is represented just by chemical and analytical data acquisition, it is claimed to be inefficient. The purpose of this reseach is to employ the best mathematical toolkits in processing of chemical analyzes? results of air samples, taken in order to determine of heavy metal content there. We made findings of level of air heavy metals pollution over time and created information data base on the grounds of archive environment protection documentation and city?s sustainable development documentation. For research purpose we chose a period of time from 2006 till 2009, because the years were registered as the most air polluted. Chemical monitoring showed that Cd and Cu maximum concentration limit (MCLs) were within tolerance, Pb ? up to 1,8 MCL. We found out a weak mathematical reliability of data concerning Almaty city?s air Pb and Cu pollution. Also, we provided some recommendations on improvement of air monitoring system such as like careful air sampling, qualitative chemical analysis of heavy metals content there, expansion in the number of observation points and in the frequency of sampling. These inventions are required for development of models of integrated prevention and control of Almaty city?s air pollution. We found out a weak mathematical reliability of data concerning Almaty city?s air Pb and Cu pollution through correlational and regressive analysis and dispersion analysis on the В«TotalComander 6.53-SamВ» and В«MathCadВ» application programs. Further inventions are required for development of models of integrated prevention and control of Almaty city?s air heavy metals pollution.
