LEVER HOISTS APPLIED IN MINING
Abstract
This article describes the possibility of using lever hoists for handling loads in extracting mineral deposits of the Earth. Hoists and jacks are generally used for the lifting and towing of loads, for assembly and handling works in the construction industry, mining and other sectors of heavy industry. They are characterized by a simple but robust construction that is resistant to rough handling. Furthermore, they offer simple operation and minimum maintenance requirements. Lever hoists are offered on the market in several types According to use, these hoists can be divided into jacks with a link chain for light operations, and in heavy duty operations where hoists with roller chains are applied. The hoists are further divided into several groups due to their load capacity, ranging from 0.8t ? 7.5t. In addition, the hoists are divided into the groups suitable for standard operations, and for operations with an explosion hazardous environment (underground mines, chemical and petroleum plants, etc.). Any product intended for such heavy operations must comply with strict safety and legislative requirements. High safety demands are placed on chains, hooks and materials used for hoists, and their safety coefficient is given by the relevant norm. Brano's products are equipped with supplied hooks, in which there is no sudden rupture when being overloaded. Their deformation occurs gradually, which helps to increase safety when lifting a load and the safety of the operator. For specific operations such as chemical and oil plants, a lever hoist can be fitted with a chain and a stainless-steel hook
