ENHANCEMENT OF THE GEOPOTENTIAL OF SOLID MINERAL DEPOSITS
Abstract
The article examines the issues of effectiveness improving of use of geopotential of solid mineral deposits based on increasing knowledge about geological resources. The authors reveal the theoretical basis of the category -geopotential-. Special attention is paid to the features of cluster structure of deposits, where in the contours of the mining there are up to fifty and more percent of empty rocks and substandard reserves. The article proposes to keep account of natural patterns of mineral matter distribution, using the introduced coefficient of geological-economic (natural) dilution of estimated reserves to increase the geopotential of the deposit. The paper studies the geological background of its formation and discusses methods of approximate estimation. The article considers a comprehensive assessment of values of dilution, including different components - general dilution, consisting of currently normalized indicators of mining and constructive dilution during mining as well as geological-economic dilution of reserves. It-s presents the results of hidden reserves evaluation of improvement and use of deposits geopotential, the realization of all the totality of which not only increase the deposit geopotential, but also reduce total dilution, loss of associated components in the subsoil, as well as mining waste and the unproductive costs of transporting, crushing and grinding of substandard pieces of mineral raw materials.
