Abstract

The article outlines the results of magnetizing roasting of manganiferous technogenic raw materials investigation, which were conducted to study the process of magnetizing roasting of пїЅTurпїЅ deposit manganiferous sludge. Magnetizing roasting of sludge was carried out, size of 0.045-0.315 mm. During the process of magnetizing roasting, the coal of Shubarkol class -3 + 2 mm was used. According to the analysis, Shubarkul coal has the following composition, %: ash - 4.87; moisture-4.71; volatile-42.02. After roasting of loose slurry mixture (-0.315 + 0.045mm) and coal (-3 + 2mm), cake was separated into concentrate and semi-coke by sieving through the 1mm sieve, and then weighed. Magnetism of roasted concentrate was measured, then it was scattered into fractions 0.16-0.315 and 0.045-0.16. Magnetization was measured by a fractionation method. The obtained results demonstrate extremely high sensitivity of magnetometric method to control ferritization process of iron-containing charge during the magnetizing roasting process. Optimum temperatures of magnetizing roasting = 500-6000?, preferably 5500?. Above these temperatures, the magnetization of the sludge falls. It is notable that slag magnetization, fraction 0.045-0.16, has higher values. Roasted sludge was subjected to the process of dry magnetic separation of calcined slurries under magnetic deposit strength of 18.302 kA/m. Dry magnetic separation of roasted products under strength provides an iron concentrate containing Fe - 52.9% and Mn - 4.05% with extraction of 89 and 5.8% and manganese concentrate with Mn - 32.4% and Fe - 3.2 % with extraction of 94.2 and 11.0% and Mn / Fe ratio = 10.0. The obtained iron and manganese concentrates can be suitable for melting into steel and ferroalloy, respectively. Physical and chemical methods of analysis and thermomagnetic analysis in particular, defines the nature of ferrimagnetic compound - maghemite, formed at a low-temperature 500-600пїЅ C in the process of reductively-magnetizing roasting of iron-manganese slurries.
