Abstract

The construction of interfaces that satisfy the requirements of users is an important task since the interface is the ?face? and ?control panel? of the entire system for the user. The study aims to reduce the semantic gap between the user and the developer at different stages of the development life cycle of the user interface by using a understandable sign form, with which the meaning of the object will be formed at various stages of its design. From this point of view, the article presents the results of an analysis of existing approaches to user interface design. The idea of user interfaces design proposed in the article differs from the known ones by establishing and reflecting the set, structure and content of user actions within the framework of the subject area, which existing approaches do not fully take into account. This is achieved due to the fact that the source data will be a description of the tasks and functions of the end user for whom the designed interface is intended. Such description will be introduced into the integration-variable model. The integrative approach to user interface design involves, firstly, strengthening the relationship between the initial requirements and the end result of the design and development of the user interface, which helps to reduce the semantic gap between the results of the stages, between the participants in the development process and between the goal and the implementation as a whole; secondly, ensuring variability in the process of developing and operating the interface, with the aim of changing its components and structure (reconfiguration) without using additional time, labor and material costs.
