Abstract

Recycling vegetable and animal wastes from households, livestock farms, vegetable farms, industry and timber processing, mushroom cultivation, and so on and using them for fertilizing vegetable crops in various forms (mixtures with organic and inorganic matter, compost and green fertilizer) is a permanent concern of researchers and farmers worldwide. In the glasshouse, it was studied influence of four types of compost (composted leaves, mixture of pieces of grape woods and tree branches, waste mushroom compost and mixture of 1/2 plant compost and 1/2 manure) on bell pepper yield Bianca F1 and Nikita F1 cultivars. The composts were applied in a rate of 3.5kg/m2 before soil management. Also, it was studied the influence of different composting activators (EM Power, Pfeiffer BD Compost Starter, Rice Bran Bokaski and Compost Maker) in order to obtain compost in a shorter period of time and with a higher content of nutrients. These composts were applied on protected bell pepper crops, using 3.5 kg/ m2. All composts applied realized very significant yield differences (LD 0.1% = 2.13t / ha) compared with unfertilized control, increasing yield ranging between 4.5 t/ha on variant fertilized with mixture of 1/2 plant compost and 1/2 manure and 12.7 t/ha on variant fertilized with waste mushroom compost. Type of interaction hybrid - compost show a very significant yield difference (LD 0.1% = 11.7 t /ha) on fertilized variant with waste mushroom compost, distinctly significant (LD 1% = 8.5 t /ha) on variant fertilized with composted leaves and significant (LD 5% = 2.93 t /ha) on variant fertilized with mixture of pieces of grape wood and tree branches. In the greenhouse, in all variants fertilized with different types of compost with activators obtained yields were very significant (LD0.1% = 4.49 t / ha). Increasing yield was between 7.1 t / ha for Bianca F1 and Nikita F1 hybrids fertilized with compost without activators and 11 t / ha for Bianca F1 and Nikita F1 fertilized with compost with Pfeiffer BD compost Starter.
