Abstract

In microgravimetric survey it is sometimes necessary to take into account the terrain correction, which eliminates the influence of terrain relief from the measured values. The accuracy of its calculation depends on the quality of mapping terrain relief in the form of a digital terrain model. For mapping is usually used geodetic data from additional measurements carried out using a total station or GPS, and more recently Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS). Additional measurements increase the cost of survey, especially in diverse terrain country. The article presents a comparison of calculations of terrain correction using data from TLS and ALS (Airborne Laser Scanning). TLS data was measured with high precision (less than 0,01 m) and next recalculated to the mesh with maximum distance 0.05 m grid. ALS data was bought in Polish Documentation Centre of Geodesy and Cartography in the 1x1 m grid with elevation accuracy about 0.2 m. To calculation was used own program based on a polyhedron method. As a test area was selected closed limestone quarry, which guaranteed significant variation of surface terrain.
