Abstract

At Eastern Taurid , the age of Carbonate rocks, outcroping at soutgh of Yahyali (Kayseri) had been defined as Jurassic-Cret aceous age in previous studies. The unit wich had been named as Köroğlutepesi Limestones in previous studies, outcroping also Eastern Tufanbeyli (Adana) at Gümelek Hill, arround Kayap ınar and İğdebel villages. Foraminiferal biostratigraphy of The sedimantery rocks surfacing at these locationes, hase been defined. Have been get three measured stratigraph ic section in Tufanbeyli region. These are Gümelek Hill, I ğdebel Village and Kayap ınar Measured Stratig raphic Columnar Sections. İn Gümelek Hill measured stra tigraphic columnar section, Kurnubia palastiniensis, Orbitolina taxana, Rumanol oculina robusta, Siphovalvulina veriablis, Valvulina lugoni , Conicokurnibia sp., Orbitolina sp., Valvulina sp. foraminifera and Actinoporella podolica algea fossilles have been found. And according these fossiles age of unite has been described as Middle -Late Juassic-Early Cretaceous. Kurnubia palastiniensis, Siphovalvulina veriablis, foraminifera and Clypeina jurassica algea fossiles has been found at İğdebelköyü measured stratigraphic columnar section. Then The age of the unite described as Late Ju assic (Malm) According these fossiles. At Kayapınar measured stratigraphic columnar section, Cuneolina parva, Decussoloculina mirceai, Quinqueloculina podlubiensis, Kurnubia palastiniensis, Meyendorfina batonica, 1ezzazatinella picardi, 1ummunoloculina heimi, Orbitolina (Mesoorbitolina) texana, Rumanoloculina robusta, Spiriloculin a cretacea, Valvulina lugoni, Bolivinopsis sp., Orbitolina sp., Glomospira sp., Glomospirella sp. Foraminifera fossils has been determined. These fossiles are given age of unite as Middle-Late Juassic-Early Cretaceous. At Dededa ğı measured stratigraphic columnar section, Decussoloculina mirceai, Dictyoconus cayeuxi, 1ummunoloculina heimi, 1ezzazatinella picardi, 1ezazata simpleks, Orbitolina conica, Orbitolina (Conicorbitolina) gr. paenaconica, Rumanoloculina robusta, Orbitol ina sp., Quinqueloculina sp., foraminifera and Actinoporella podolica, Salpingoporella dinarica algea fossils has been found and according these fossiles age of unite has been described as Late Juassic -Early Cretaceous. According these studies, age of the each ca rbonate unites are sim illar. But battom and top levels of unites can’t apear from each tectonostratigrafhic position.
