Abstract

Generally speaking, a software interface may refer to a wide range of different types of interface at different levels: an operating system may interface with pieces of hardware. Nevertheless software interface can be use in order to extract a specific desired data format from a certain amount of data volume. In surveying, once with the topographic electronic equipment evolution, the possibility of getting field data measurements has very much increased as much as data volume but also as data quality. One of the main problems consists in achieving an appropriate interface in order to transfer the data from the electronic equipment to the computers into a desired format, mostly in CAD formats. The purpose of the paper is to present an opportunity to create their own interface to download data from a total station in a format compatible with graphics programs assisted by computer, so the result can be used in a manner more easily by the user.
