Abstract

This paper begins with an analysis of the constructive-functional characteristics of hazardous goods transport systems, as required by legislation [3]. It is observed that safety elements primarily concern the materials from which parts or subassemblies in direct contact with or in close proximity to the hazardous substances being transported are made, as well as the general measures applicable to the vehicle-s electrical system, which aim to prevent overheating or to shield and prevent the transmission of heat to the transport compartment. It follows that these general elements must be supplemented with specific systems for each type of substance (possibly generalized by class), systems that are not included in the standard vehicle model, except for tankers designed for a specific type of transport. In this regard, two constructive solutions have been proposed, designed to operate within an automated system for continuous monitoring of the parameter or parameters that define the hazard, and for immediate and rapid intervention in case of an incident, simultaneously triggering an e-Call to notify the necessary intervention units.
