SELECTION OF AN APPROPRIATE LOCATION IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE CONCENTRATOR NEXT TO ONE MINERAL DEPOSIT USING IDRISI SOFTWARE
Abstract
Geographic Information Systems (GISs) are very useful tools for managing, checking, and organizing spatial information from many sources and of many types in thematic layers. One of the most important applications of geographical information system (GIS) is the site selection for various problems. The main purpose of this research is the selection of the best place for establishes the processing plant next to the one mineral deposit, which is located in Howe Hill in United Kingdom (UK), using of IDRISI software. To achieve the goal, by respect to the mine site characterizations and also environmental considerations in study area, an appropriate position was selected. The results of such studies can be used by mine planers and engineers in order to design the best mine plan before mine commence.
