3D-ANALYSIS OF THE ROCK BURST TAKEN PLACE ON 27/01/2016 AT MINING SECTION 14 OF THE KIROVSK MINE (KHIBINY, RUSSIA)
Abstract
In late January of 2016 (27/01/2016) at Mining Section 14 (Block 7/10) of the Kukisvumchorr flank of the Kirovsk Mine (Khibiny), a violent seismo-dynamic event (lgE ? 8.11) took place to induce significant destructions and deformations of workings at Drill & haulage horizon 4 (4DHH) with an average elevation of +236 meter, 1DHH (+183 m), and possibly at 2DHH (+209 m), which is unavailable for examination. The dislocations, deformations and roof break formation occurred both at the cross-measure (predominantly) and drive directions and covered the area of approximately 130 x 180 meters in plain view. In order to interpret the rock burst (RB), a comprehensive 3D-analysis was made for all geological and mining conditions, factors, preceding and accompanying events. The proposed interpretation implies accumulation of elastic energy in the area influenced by critical natural and man-caused conditions and energy off-load due to the breakup of existing and new fractures with the wall opening for 0.1 to 0.5 cm. The most probable implemented kinematics seems to be an upthrust fault / a fault with a left-slide component (SE-wing of Fault R1 relieved due to the breaking, raised relative to the NW-wing and insignificantly shifted towards the rock fall end).
