Abstract

As is shown in the paper, Russia and its Far Eastern region (RFE) possess large amounts of mineral wealth, comparable to th at of China, USA, Australia, Canada and other major mineral producing countries. The same can be said with respect to the production of mineral commodities, including highly valuable ones. Unfortunately, country's and region's mineral potentials are insufficiently geologically explored and are not used to their full capacity. Presumably, the situation can be s ubstantially corrected in positive direction by attracting foreign and transnational capitals and expertise, both on intrastate and transboarder bases.
