Abstract

BelAZ-7540 quarry dump trucks are widely used in the development of placer deposits in the Arctic zone of Russia. The efficiency of the mining enterprise depends by their reliability. As practice shows, the operation of mining machines in the Arctic North has specific features, which are a large distance from industrial and energy centers, the lack of year-round road connections, low climatic temperatures and seasonal character of mining. The operational reliability of BelAZ-7540 quarry trucks is not sufficiently researched in the scientific and technical literature, especially in the Arctic zone of the North. Under the influence of numerous factors, quarry dump trucks are idle up to 50% time during year. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to research the operational reliability of quarry dump trucks BelAZ-7540 when working on placer deposits in the Arctic North. Statistical and analytical methods were used for analysis of the operational reliability of quarry dump trucks BelAZ-7540. The results of this research indicate that an increase in the volume of mining transport operations consequence to an increase in their failure intensity. The reliability of dump trucks is limited by failures of the drive axle, suspension, front axle, wheels and tires, steering, and brake systems due to abrasive wear. The number of failures of these systems during the washing season increases by almost 2 times. Their reliability is reduced due to poor quality of maintenance and repairs and their untimely implementation.
