ANALYSIS OF THE ECOLOGICAL STATE OF THE VEGETATIVE COVER IN THE ILE (ZAILIYSKIY) ALATAU MOUNTAINS
Abstract
The paper considers the state of the vegetation cover of the high-mountain valley of Kok Jailau, which is located in the central part of the Ile (Zailiyskiy) Alatau Ridge (Northern Tien Shan). The results of the study showed a different degree of anthropogenic transformation of the vegetation cover. It is noted that in the natural (background) state the vegetation cover was preserved only in hard-to-reach areas, mainly in the upper part of the mountains (on steep slopes of the Kumbel Ridge, river valleys, etc.). The main factors of vegetation transformation are revealed: 1. long-term use of the territory for high-mountain pastures; 2. felling of Tien Shan spruce in the Soviet period; 3. fires in spruce forests and adjacent areas; 4. use of the territory for tourist and recreational purposes. As a result of the studies, the authors gave recommendations on the protection of vegetation and the conservation of biodiversity in the face of increasing anthropogenic pressure, due to the proximity of this territory to the city of Almaty. Materials of the results of the research are included in the elective courses of biological disciplines ?Biological diversity? and ?Biodiversity of plant resources in Kazakhstan?. This fact expands the aspects of the study of vegetation cover, environmental measures and, in general, the environmental education of bachelor, master and PhD programs students at natural science faculties of universities.
