Abstract

Increasing population, urban development, i ndustrial and agricultural needs, gradually warming the Earth and increasing droughts have been caused of reduction of consumable water and the need for rich resources of underground water has been more than before. Arak as a fourth pole of the industry in the Iran country has especial dependence on Aman Abad region underground water resources, so the study in this area for underground water exploitation and control of resources have great importance , that most of these studies are time-consuming and expensive. The main goal of this research is to estimate aquifer hydrodynamic coefficients in the area, such as storage coefficient, permeability coefficient and transmitivity with help of geophysical data, resistivity method and information from exploratory wells, because of simplicity and cheapness of this method. For this purpose, data of 156 electrical Soundings, present in the area, are interpreted by curve fitti ng technique and usi ng well and geology information to determine resistivity and th ickness of subsurface layers. Then by putting the results of the interpretation of resistiv ity data, of each electrical sounding along a profile, 2D pseudo section is constructed. Saturated and dry regions and their resistivities were specified with helping of the c onstructed model and the data from the water table piezometric wells in the area. And finally by using hydrogological relationships, hydrodynamic coefficients are cal culated. Then by plotting the results of the calculations and their inte rpretations, regions with different potential of water were specified. Region whose water table level has been fallen extremely was also recognized. Finally, a comparison between estimated co efficients from mentioned methods and results from pumping tests were carried out which has been showed good agreement.
