MAPPING FOR LAND ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM USING UAV PHOTOGRAMMETRY
Abstract
UAV photogrammetry is well established in Slovak geodesy across all aspects of surveying work. To a lesser extent, it is also used for the purposes of the Slovak Land Administration System (LAS). The aim of this study was to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of obtaining coordinates of breakpoints of ownership boundaries from data acquired by UAV photogrammetry. Data collection took place in 2025 in the cadastral area of Pac, covering an area of 0.703 square km. The survey work lasted 4 hours using a DJI Mavic Enterprise (M3E RTK) device. Two data derivatives from UAV photogrammetry were processed: a layer derived using the Random Sample Consensus (RANSAC) algorithm applied to the point cloud, and a layer derived using the Cloth Simulation Filter (CSF). The study includes recommendations for data collection procedures (flight altitude, imaging method) as well as data processing workflows. The use of RANSAC and CSF derivatives is recommended depending on the way the ownership boundary is realized in the field (fence, building wall, boundary markers) and the degree to which the boundary is obscured (by vegetation or other objects). Processing of 8,602 images required approximately 48 hours of work using Agisoft Metashape Professional software. The results showed that while the time demands of fieldwork were significantly reduced, the time requirements for preparatory and office processing work increased only slightly. The accuracy of the resulting cadastral map was evaluated as sufficient. The proposed data collection and processing procedures can be used for cadastral mapping within the LAS.
