Abstract

The development of cements that produce less CO2 is important for the preservation of our environment. One way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is to produce belite cements that contain a higher proportion of belite than alite. Although the long-term strengths of this type of cement are comparable or even higher than those of ordinary Portland cement, their disadvantage is insufficient initial strengths) due to the slow hydration of belite. In this work, the effect of adding SO3 to the raw meal on the initial strengths of belite cements was investigated. Natural zeolite was also added to the resulting clinkers as a supplementary cementitious material and its effect on the initial volume stability of the cement paste was tested.
