STRATEGIC BENCHMARKS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
Abstract
All European papers consider the efficiency and quality of education as a fundamental premise of social cohesion, economic growth and sustainable development in the transition towards a knowledge society. The major reform processes initiated by the government in higher education, decentralization and quality management, are fully compatible and convergent with the European direction of reform in order to achieve the fundamental objectives of the ’Lisbon Process’. Debt of any institution of the national education system, regardless of type, level and form of organization of work, is to provide teaching, learning and research quality, the need to build an institutional culture of quality education, to help develop personal and professional students, to society. The paper analyzes policies and strategies for quality assurance in the national education system in Romania, in correlation with the guidelines and actions to promote European and global level. It specifies the strategic objectives agreed by the university in line with the requirements of a quality education to European standards.
