Abstract

The open pit Veliki Krivelj is a copper mine which operates within RTB Bor Group in Serbia. In 1998 a combined haulage system involving the initial dump truck haulage, crusher, belt conveyor and a boom spreader for waste disposal was designed and installed in order to reduce the costs on overburden removal. The designed productivity of the system is 4 700 t/h and it will be fully operational in the next few weeks. Up to date it has been capable of achieving maximal 50% of this productivity because only one of two designed crushers was installed. This paper gives an overview of the achieve d annual productivities of the system in the period from 1998 to 2010 as well as the necessary explanations of the reasons of the low productivity utilization. The presented data can be useful to those mining experts who are considering implementation of similar combined haulage systems.
