THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ANTI-SEEPAGE MEASURES IN THE HYDRAULIC STRUCTURE SUBSOIL
Abstract
Nowadays, renewable resources come to the forefront in the production of electricity. Among the most important resources belong the utilization of hydropower potential of water courses. The construction of hydraulic structures should not have a negative impact on the groundwater level regime of the surrounding environment. In the article, we focused on the selected small hydropower plant on the Hron River. There was built an effective monitoring system to track changes in groundwater level regime during its construction and trial operation. There were realized continuous measurements of groundwater level regime in the surrounding area, and there were also carried out several special tracer measurements of filtration rate. After putting the small hydropower plant into trial operation, the measurement results determined necessity of anti-seepage measures in the subsoil of the hydraulic structure. In the proposed paper was analysed groundwater level regime in the surrounding area without anti-seepage measures and after their implementation and also the effectiveness and impact of the anti-seepage measures.
