USE OF REAGENTS-FLOCCULANTS IN WATER-PREPARATION PROCESSES DURING PHOSPHOROUS-CONTAINING ORE PROCESSING
Abstract
The use of closed water rotation in enterprises processing phosphorus-containing ores requires a long standing circulating water precipitation in the tailings storage. The paper studies possibility of treatment of industrial mineral processing waters from suspended particles and water-soluble impurities adversely affecting the flotation process with the help of reagents-flocculants. The characteristics of the dispersed and liquid phase of industrial waters formed during the processing of non-sulfide ores (for example, processing of phosphorus-containing ores) have been determined. A wide range of anionic, cationic and non-ionic flocculants with different degrees of iconicity has been considered. The regularities describing the interaction of flocculants with the phases of the heterogeneous system of industrial waters have been obtained, the kinetic and concentration dependences of the flocculating ability of the reagents have been determined. The reagents-flocculants, which provide the optimal parameters of circulating water in terms of suspended particles and hardness cations, have been defined; the influence of the selected reagents-flocculants on the flotation process has been studied. The proposed approach will exclude the discharge of industrial water into the external tailing dumps, which will reduce the area occupied by production waste.
