Abstract

Some renewable energy sources, such as biomass, hydro, geothermal and tidal energy, produce reliable electricity, which can be distributed to remote locations. Other sources, like solar and wind depend on the weather, but it is predictable and so their usefulness may be suitably amended with permanent renewable energy sources. The vast majority of renewable energy in add ition to their advantages in terms of their source inexhaustibility also has significant drawbacks which significantly limit their expansion. For this purpose, was created an analytical tool which assesses the reliability of selected renewable energy sources in terms of several factors. Among these factors we include limiting factors - restrictions on activitie s (under natural conditions), legislative restrictions (environmental protection, stat e support), economic constraints (energy costs, investment costs) a nd restrictions on the production of energy surplus (mode of operation of equipment). The results of the analysis are the creation of geographically and time-dependent outcomes with inputs, wh ich require a detailed analysis of local conditions, utilization of selected energy sources and availability of the source. This paper is dedicated to optimizing the mix of renewable energy sources in terms of households so as to minimize the limitations of renewable energy while minimizing the investment and operating costs.
