ADSORPTION PERFORMANCE OF CO3O4 IN THE REMOVAL PROCESS OF PHENOL AND LEAD FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Voda, R., Lupa, L., Cocheci, L.)

In this study, cobalt oxide (Co3O4) was prepared by thermolysis of cobalt (II) oxalate at ???????????? This oxide was characterized by IR spectroscopy, XRD (X-ray diffraction) and SEM (scanning electron microscopy). The adsorption of phenol and lead (II) ions, both singly and in combination, by obtained and characterized Co3O4 was studied in batch system. Kinetic and equilibrium experiments were conducted to study the effects of solid : liquid ratio, pH, contact time and initial concentration of the pollutants. Th...

BIOSORPTION OF URANYL ION FROM RADIOACTIVE SOLUTION

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Boguslavsky, A., Yurkevich, N., Saeva, O., Gaskova, O.)

U(VI) biosorption by six natural materials: three types of peats, Polytrichium moss, Eichh?rnia cr?ssipes water plant and Cladonia stellaris lichen was investigated. Natural sorbents were selected, as it is available, cheap and accessible materials. The effects of initial concentration of UO2 2- in the model radioactive solution and pH on the sorption uranyl ions were assessed. Adsorption isotherms and constants for given adsorbates and adsorbents were determined. Equilibrium is well described by Freundlich equati...

PALLADIUM ADSORPTION ON IONIC LIQUID IMPREGNATED FLORISIL

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Lupa, L., Cocheci, L., Voda, R., Negrea, P.)

Palladium is one of the precious metals which have great economic importance. It is used in many fields such as electrical and electronic industries, corrosion resistant materials, and jewelry due to their specific physical and chemical properties, catalysts in various chemical processes. Due to its importance and high price, it is essential to develop efficient recovery methods for this element especially from water containing trace amount of Pd. Therefore in this work we report studies regarding the removal of P...

INVESTIGATION OF NEW COLLOID-CHEMICAL AND FLOTATION CHARACTERISTICS OF POLYFUNCTIONAL REAGENT

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Bilyalova, S.)

Selective collector "polyfunctional reagent" consisting a mixture of butyl xanthoenate, N-allyl-o-izobuthyl-tiono-karbamat (TC-1000) and aerofloat composition in a ratio of 1: 1: 2 was selected on the basis of comprehensive research. Their colloid-chemical properties (surface tension, adsorption at the water-air wetting) was studied. Also colloid-chemical properties and ability flotation of sulfide monominerals with the usage of basic and multifunctional flotation reagents was evaluated. Furthermore flotation of s...

THE POSSIBILITY OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT OF HEAVY METALS BY NATURAL SORBENTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Fiaizullina, R.V., Makarova, M.A., Abrosimova, N.A.)

The adsorption excretion of Hg, As, and Cu ions from aqueous solutions at 22±0.5°C on zeolite (Sokirnitskoe deposit, Transcarpathia) and smectite clay (Kamalinskoye deposit, Krasnoyarsk region) were studied. The adsorption processes were studied in the static regime at pH?2. Parameters such as, the time of equilibrium establishment, the ratio "sorbent - solution" were selected experimentally. All samples were filtered through a 0.2 ?m membrane using syringes. The samples for Hg were selected strictly in teflon dis...

NEW COMBINED MEMBRANE-ADSORPTION TECHNOLOGY FOR PURIFICATION OF WATER FROM ORGANIC POLLUTANTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Tsyntsarski, B., Budinova, T., Sarbu, A., Sandu, T., Radu, A.)

Adsorption of p-nitrophenol from aqueous solution by combined membrane-adsorption technology was studied. Activated carbon samples were synthesized on the base of industrial by products (coal tar pitch) and biomass. Synthetic activated carbon synthesized from mixture of coal tar pitch and furfural by thermo-oxidation treatment with sulfuric acid at 200oC, and subsequent carbonization in nitrogen atmosphere at 600 oC, followed by hydro-carbonyzation at 800oC. Biomass based activated carbon was obtained by hydro-car...

CONGO RED REMOVAL FROM WATER BY ZNAL-LDH OBTAINED FROM ZINC ASH

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Lupa, L., Golban, A., Cocheci, L., Pode, R.)

The aim of this work is the study of Congo Red removal from water by adsorption onto Zn4Al-CO3 type layered double hydroxide prepared from zinc ash. The preparation consist in dissolution of zinc ash with hydrochloric acid followed by synthesis of LDH by co-precipitation of zinc chloride with aluminum salt in alkaline media. The prepared LDH and the calcined product were utilized as adsorbents of azo dye Congo Red from water. Despite that the materials were prepared from a waste, their performances as adsorbents a...
