GEOLOGICAL MODEL AND THE SIMULATION OF THE GROUNDWATER FLOWING IN THE QUATERNARY SEDIMENTS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, in the consequence of the quaternary of filtration of some sediments. [1] Collector of the underlay psammits is repre tertiary)

Submitted paper describes collector of the quaternary sediments and the simulation of the groundwater in this collector. The interest area is situated to the central part of the North Bohemian Brown Coal Basin in the Czech Republic. There is one of the biggest coals opencast mine called CSA in the Czech Republic. The groundwater flow in the quaternary sediments brings in consequence great stability problem of the upper overburden cuts. We decided to construct the three dimensional geological model of the quaternar...

CALCRETE IN SOUTHEAST BULGARIA – A STUDY IN PROGRESS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, I. Dimitrov, M. Panayotova, D. Sachkov)

A horizon of carbonate minerals underlies the organic soils of the Thracian plane. This horizon has irregular thickness, density and mineral composition. In the world scientific literature, such horizons are usually described as pedogenic calcretes. The growth of the carbonate layer depends on many factors; among them are the global climate change, the acidity of the atmospheric precipitates and the agricultural practices. The carbonate layer is very significant to the biological productivity of the soil. It tends...

REASONS OF DROUGHT IN KONYA BASIN AND REQUIRED PRECAUTION WHICH WILL BE TAKEN

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, Göçmez, PRECAUTION WHICH Güler)

Konya Basin has wide area which 62.000 km2 and has important water potential. However water reserves decreasing in basin recent years. Groundwater levels are decreasing for global warming, scarcity of rains, unconscious usage, plant cover, uncontrolled illegal wells and conditions of basin coming near drought. Climatic data are changing because of global warming in Konya Basin. Average rain is 280,8 mm and this is very low. Drought period is living since 1998 in basin. Rain quantity of 2007 is less than average of...

HYDROGEOLOGICAL QUESTIONS OF RADOVESICE DUMP IN TERM OF ITS FOUNDATION AND SUBSEQUENT RECULTIVATION ACTIVITIES

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, J. Halir, L. Zizka)

The submitted paper describes general data about geology, hydrology and hydrogeology of Radovesice dump. There are eleven hydrogeological monitoring objects in the area of interest. Monitoring of the water level in these objects is proceeding every month. Hydrogeological objects are situated to the aquifers inside the dump body and close to the dump floor. Monitored values, atmospheric precipitation and configuration of surface streams create comprehensive view on the hydrogeological system of the Radovesice dump.
