INVENTORY OF CO2 AND CH4 EMISSIONS FROM OIL EXPLOITATION IN POLAND

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-11-20, Uliasz-Misiak, Barbara)

Conventions, agreements and international regulations aimed at counteracting climate change impose on the signatory Governments, including Poland, the obligation to document the amount of greenhouse gases emitted to the atmosphere. Inventory is taken from various industrial sectors, including sources related to the exploitation of crude oil. In the oil production processes, greenhouse gas emissions come from three main sources categories: combustion emissions (stationary and mobile sources), released (process) emi...

COMPARING PERFORMANCE OF STRUCTURED AND UNSTRUCTURED CATALYSTS IN DRY REFORMING OF METHANE

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Mitrichev, I., Shaneva, A., Zhensa, A., Koltsova, E.)

This study has its aim to compare the performance of modern structured and unstructured catalysts in a dry reforming of methane (DRM). DRM is used to obtain a mixture of H2 and CO with almost equal fractions of both products, which is subsequently used in synthesis of some chemical valuable products. The kinetic scheme for tungsten carbide (WC) catalyst was taken from the literature. Using the experimental data for a fixed bed catalyst, we have fitted the parameters of the kinetic scheme of DRM on WC catalyst. The...

ANALYSIS OF WAYS TO OPTIMIZE THE DESIGN AND OPERATION OF METHANE DRAINAGE SYSTEMS

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Babut, G.B., Moraru, R.I., Stelea, M. Popescu -)

Restructuring of mining activity in Romania resulted in active implementation of reconstruction programs, upgrading and modernization of the mines in the Jiu Valley. These programs were aimed mainly at increasing labor productivity safely. Considering, along with requirements for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment, also the issues related to the drained methane valorization and to environmental protection restrictions it was imposed to rethink the so-called "global methane treatment" at the level of m...
