In Banatului Plain area (western Romania) the grassland vegetation is represented by steppe and forest steppe. From the past, most of the land was cultivated and nowadays grasslands are present in the plain only in the vicinity of the inhabited area for the use of the grazing animals of the community during the vegetation season.
