The paper analyses the waste management practice for the Arad County located in the western part of Romania. Together with Timis County it forms a prosperous region in Romania, attracting numerous foreign investors, especially because its proximity to the border. This paper deals with disinfection of drinking water at ?Aquatim S.A?. The disinfection plant is part of an investment plan to provide conformation with the Romanian Law 485/2002 concerning drinking water quality and European Union Water Frame Directive. The new facility employs modern techniques of storage, dosage, injection and neutralization of chlorine.
