USE OF AN ECOMETRIC MODEL FOR DEVELOPING AN OUTLOOK FOR THE CROP SECTOR IN LATVIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Nipers, A., Pilvere, I., Zeverte-Rivza, S., Krievina, A.)

In 2015 in Latvia, the total value of agricultural output in constant prices (including subsidies on products) reached EUR 1.25 billion, and the value of crop products accounted for 63% of the total. The world population will increase by 35% by 2050; therefore, the Latvian Agricultural Sector Analysis Model (LASAM) has been developed for making projections for agricultural industries. The overall objective of the research is to develop a dynamic simulation model for various crop sectors. The present research analy...

GOVERNANCE RISK ASSESSMENT IN LATVIA: REGIONAL DIFFERENCES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-29, Bulderberga, Z., Zeverte-Rivza, S.)

There are several factors affecting governance efficiency and inhabitant satisfaction with the actions of the local government in the regional level. Efficiency of the local governance is also strongly linked with the development of the particular region and can be facilitating for attraction of funding for the development of infrastructure, promoting entrepreneurship and increase the overall life quality in the region. Jet there are several risks associated with the actions of local governance and an assessment o...

THE METHOD OF ASTRONOMICAL REFRACTION ANOMALIES ANALYSIS BASED ON AEROLOGICAL DATA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Posivakova, Terezia, Pilvere, I., Zeverte-Rivza, S., Krievina, A.)

The aim of this article is to study astronomical refraction anomalies. Back in 1925 Grachev and Banahevich found systematic errors in meridian observations depending on zenithal distance. Grachev suggested that these refraction anomalies arise from the inclination of the Earth's surface to the South. The airstratas of the same density were considered as parallel to the Earth's surface. But the analysis of latitude observations from the Bamberg and ZTL-180 telescopes showed there were significant systematic errors ...

EVALUATION OF RISKS IN AGRICULTURE IN THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Zeverte-Rivza, S., Popluga, D., Berzina, L.)

Over the past decade, the widespread concern about the staggering effects of climate change, particularly in the agricultural sector, has become very serious. It has been agreed that the inter-annual, monthly and daily distribution of climate variables such as temperature, radiation, precipitation, water vapour pressure in the air and wind speed affects a number of physical, chemical and biological processes that drive the productivity of agriculture. Thus, understanding the possible consequences of climate change...
