THE EVALUATION OF GLOBAL WARMING’S EFFECTS ON SOIL TEMPERATURE OF TURKEY BY 3.5D GEOGRAPHYCAL INFORMATION SYSTEM MODELS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, O. Corumluoglu, M. E. Aydin, I. Asri, S. Ozcan, F. Beduk)

In this study, global warming’s effects on soil temperature of Turkey was evaluated by analysis of the spatial and temporal variations of the soil temperature data with the help of 3.5D Geographical Information System (GIS) Models. Soil temperature data in 5 cm, 10 cm, 20 cm, 50 cm and 100 cm depths in 74 city centers since 1975 were used. These data were compared with 34 years mean temperature of each city and deviations were shown by using GIS on the map. It is determined that soil temperature values in Turkey h...

ON EFFICIENT SOLUTION IN MODELING SO2 DISPERSION FROM COMBUSTION FLUE GAS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, D.-C. Toncu, V. Stanciu)

Major environmental problem worldwide, air pollution gains our particular attention, especially in the case of industrial emission. Among such concerns, SO2 generated by combustion flue gas requires profound analysis, mostly because it is known to cause acid rains. In time, many mathematical models gave both quantification and prediction of pollution level. This work aims to compare several SO2 dispersion equations (i.e. Sutton equation, Bosanquet-Pearson equation and diffusion equation, derived from the plume dis...

THE PLACE OF CIVIL AVIATION SECTOR DURING CRISIS AND MARKETING STRATEGIES APPLIED AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS OF THE SECTOR (An Experimental Research From Turkey)

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, I. Gonen)

Today, tourism is considered in a different approach, away from classic tourism understanding. The countries which have developed their national aviation and can create alternative tourism types have been ahead and had advantages in payment balances. However, the governments of some countries which guide the world tourism today have had to give financial support to save their aviation campanies under a heavy economical crisis after the 11th. september terror events and afterwards during the economic crisis. Under ...

THE PHOTOCATALYTIC REDUCTION OF CO2 WITH H2O

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2010, B. Khezry, N. Modirshahla, S. Khanahmadzadeh, H. Hooshyar)

The goals of the present work are: (1) A theoretical analysis of possible reaction pathways to the synthesis of methanol and methane from CO2 and H2O and the selection of the best path from the view point of energy. (2) Investigation of the kinetic of assumed reactions. For determination of mechanism, BOC-MP method is used. By using of this theory, it is possible to calculate the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters and therefore predict the intermediates and the mechanism of heterogeneous catalytic reaction. With...
