The opportunity for heat recovery and greenhouse gas elimination from dilute methane emissions from coal mine ventilation air, oil and gas industries and landfill by using a Catalytic Flow Reversal Reactor (CFRR) technology is discussed. Major and trace element concentrations were measured in representative fly ash samples from four Power Units of Agios Dimitrios Thermal Power Plant, Northern Greece. The predominant part of the soils in the studied area is alluvial soils with highly variable mechanical composition. According to their grain-size composition soils range from loamy sand, loam, to silty loam and in few cases clay loam.
