The paper presents observations of solution of the sustainable forestry problem in terms of the Arkhangelsk region. One of the sustainable forestry guidelines is appropriate restraining of the forest harvesting. The volumes of logging in the Arkhangelsk region constitute about half of the allowable wood removal.
