NEW NAVITEQ GNSS SUB - NETWORK OF PERMANENT STATIONS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, I. Ivanova, J. Jeliaskov)

NAVITEQ establishes the first nationwide GNSS network in Bulgaria. It is a private project that offers an inexpensive way of precise positioning by transmitting correction data. The main purpose is to provide services to GNSS users that need centimeter and sub-centimeter accuracy. NAVITEQ provides three types of services called Naviteq Post Processing, Naviteq VRS and Naviteq PreciseRTK. There is another service in real time mode that is under development. The NAVITEQ reference stations positions are determined in...

REGARDING SOME DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOILS AND THE LIQUIFACTION POTENTIAL OF SANDS IN SOFIA

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, I. Ivanov)

The contemporary construction on the territory of Sofia requires more and more responsible execution of the geological researches. The drilling of deep construction pits, as well as the construction of high-rise buildings (with more than 100 m height), are connected with serious problems, especially in the anti earthquake security insurance. One of the important questions which were raised in the construction of Metrostation 7 in the Sofia’s centre, as well as in the designing of Europa Center, having 180 m offi...

A DAMAGE IN A BUILDING EXCAVATION. REASONS AND LESSONS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2006, I. Ivanov, N. Popov, E. Beikova)

Authors consider a damage in a building excavation, which took place in June 2005 at the environs of Sofia. The slope of the excavation is protected by anchors and protective net but after the heavy rains during the whole month of June 2005 it begins to degrade. An emergency additional strengthening is made and the degradation is stopped. The paper considers the reasons for the damage and outlines the results of the investigations and laboratory tests made afterwards. The specific characteristics of the soil that ...

THE TECHNIQUE OF VERY LONG BASELINE INTERFEROMETRY (VLBI). FIRST RESULTS OF PROCESSING OF VLBI DATA IN BULGARIA

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2006, I. Zdravchev, I. Ivanova)

Each of the spatial methods provides data in a different and a unique way for the three main geodetic directions: geometry of the Earth – coordinates of points and deformation; orientation and rotation of the Earth; gravity field as well as its variations. One of these methods, which is the most accurate and hopeful nowadays, is the Very Long Baseline Interferometry. In this paper it is gone into the technique of VLBI and its applications, mainly in geodesy and geodynamics. It is made an analysis of the motion o...

STABILITY CRITERIA OF KARST CAVERN VAULTS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2005, I. Ivanov)

Development of the engineering infrastructure pays a bigger attention on the utilizing of new construction fields. Significant risks are concealed in the construction of the buildings, structures, roads and railroads on the grounds, which had not been an object of the engineering and geological researches. It is possible to arise disadvantageous effects for the construction. Karst fields in Bulgaria hide many potential dangers if engineering and geological researches are insufficient. The object of the present wor...
