According to Polish law, the natural concentration of sulphur (II) compounds in groundwater higher than 1 mg/L can be a base to find them as a curative water. Sulphur (II) occurs in groundwater usually as hydrogen sulphur or bisulphide ion. Their concentrations and ratios can vary dependent on prevailing conditions. Very often water stays a long way from intake to the spas. What is more in health resorts curative waters could be mixed. These processes can influence on total concentration and forms of occurrence of...

The article presents the results of the research carried out in order to evaluate the possibility of using the groundwater of the Raba River basin for human consumption, using an indicator dedicated for groundwater (GQI). For this purpose an existing database that contains the results of analyzes of groundwater samples collected from October to December 2005 from wells (18 samples) or springs (21 samples) located in the Raba River basin was used. Samples were taken by one person according to the procedure describe...

THE INFLUENCE OF SELECTED FACTORS ON THE CONCENTRATION OF HEAVY METALS IN DRINKING WATER

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Piotr Rusiniak, Katarzyna Wator, Ewa Kmiecik, Adam Postawa)

According to the requirements of Council Directive 98/83/EC of 3 November 1998 on the quality of water intended for human consumption and Regulation of the Minister of Health of 13 November 2015 on the quality of water intended for human consumption, drinking water should be characterized by the appropriate concentration of selected parameters, i.e. heavy metals. The specified parametric values should not be exceeded not only in water treatment plant, but also on the particular parts of the production cycle and wa...
