Climate change is the most pronounced in the last thirty years. In the world, but also in Slovakia, there are extreme temperatures and frequent periods of drought alternating with torrential precipitation. Neither of these two options is suitable for the country. The aim of this article was to determine the distribution of precipitation in the period 1991- 2020. Using the Mann-Kendall trend analysis, it was determined a statistically significant increase or decrease in precipitation in individual months of the yea...

ASSESSMENT OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE DELIMITATION EROSION CONTROL CRITERIA IN THE NITRICA RIVER BASIN, SLOVAKIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Jakub Pagáč)

Article represents the calculation of the long-term average annual soil loss using the universal soil loss equation (USLE) in the model river basin. Soil loss will be assessed with respect to land use (in the categories: arable land, vineyard, garden, orchard and permanent grassland) and slope (in the categories: less than 12В°, 12В° ? 20В° and more than 20В°). There is a Slovak technical norm: Hydromelioration ? Erosion control protection of agricultural land. Based on this norm land users must comply with the de...

WATER EROSION RISK ASSESSMENT, DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SLOVAK AND POLISH PROCEDURES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Jakub Pagac, Edyta Kruk)

Given an example watershed, calculation of the long-term average annual soil loss by the universal soil loss equation (USLE) is analyzed taking into amount the Slovak and Polish approaches. Six factors are considered the rainfall erosivity factor (R), the soil erodibility factor (K), the topographic factors (LS) and the cropping management factors (C and P). Differences in input and methodology are highlighted. The example micro-watershed (the Matny stream basin in the Beskid Wyspowy, the western Carpath, Poland) ...
