Sealing solutions play a crucial role in any space application. In this paper we present the production and characterization of elastomeric composites for rubber seals used to prevent unwanted loss of gas or liquid. We selected the following types of elastomers: ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymers (EPDM), butyl rubber (IIR) and bromobutyl rubber (Br-IIR) that have a good behaviour in the low temperature conditions of the cosmic space.
