THE DANUBE DELTA - A UNIQUE PLACE IN EUROPE

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Slave, C., Zamfir, D. V., Coanca, M.)

The Danube, the second largest river in Europe, after its flow through many cities and countries, meets the Black Sea creating a meeting point which benefited the creation of the Danube Delta known as one of the greatest wetlands of the planet. The stretches of water and land of this delta offer good living conditions for many species of plants and animals. GIS technology is an important tool in the analysis of geographic areas. The purpose of this study was to create maps using a set of GIS technologies that pres...

ANALYSIS OF STRESS STATE IN SLOPE WALL TO EXPLOITATION IN CETATE QUARRY - ROSIA MONTANA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Toderas, Mihaela)

Rosia Montana deposit is made up of several ore bodies; the natural factors are characteristics of each ore body. The deposit is accompanied by an extensive area of hydrothermal alteration, whose distribution has a complex character. Fast alteration and humidity were one of the factors that have been taken into account in order to achieve quarry. The quarry platform has reached at the level of the upper bottoms in the breccia area, which involves passing to the exploitation of the reserves included in these pillar...

USAGE OF NUMERICAL MODELING FOR PROPOSAL OF SLOPE STABILIZATION IN GREYWACKE QUARRY IN EASTERN BOHEMIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Janega, M., Sancer, J., Siroky, T.)

This paper describes possibilities to use numerical models as significant aid in proposal of slope stabilization in Quarry. More accurately the proposal for excavation way of first soil overburden cut, which is mixed up with rock mass, to stabilize the slope. That is real case study which was performed for greywacke quarry situated in Eastern Bohemia. Since 2005 a small instability symptoms are observed on eastern general slope of quarry. Based on this fact the slope stability investigation started in detail one y...
