THE MODIFICATION OF A 3D PRINTER FOR LASER ENGRAVING

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Antonín Durna)

This article discusses the use of a 3D printer as a complex machine enabling not only 3D printing but also laser engraving and cutting. With a suitable design, the print head can be easily replaced with an engraving head [1]. With regard to the laser power, wood materials can be engraved or marked, and with the use of a chemical-based agent for engraving, we can apply it also to metals. A sufficiently powerful laser can cut even thin veneer, which can be used to create templates, stencils, models and graphical ite...

3D PRINTER WITH REPLACEMENT HEAD FOR ENGRAVING PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Antonin Durna, Jiri Fries)

This article discusses the possibilities of using a 3D printer with parallel kinematics that can produce good quality prototype components such as various covers, handles and functional assembly for simple electronic devices or robots. It will enable combining the printer with an engraving CNC machine, so that the effector head of the 3D printer will allow the head to be exchanged for printing with an engraver head, and it will allow fine engraving on printed circuit boards. The printer effector is equipped with a...

MODIFICATION OF THE NOZZLE ASSEMBLY IN A 3D PRINTER FOR PRINTING MATERIALS WITH HIGHER MELTING TEMPERATURES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Antonin Durna, Jiri Fries)

This article deals with the modification of the nozzle and its entire assembly with a hot end, so that it was not necessary to use a tephlon insertion and it was possible to reach the maximum temperatures of the nozzle reaching 280пїЅC and above. With the gradual development of 3D printing technology FDM (fused deposition modeling), i.e. the fritting of the thermoplastic in the shape of the fibres and putting it into the layers, more demands are placed on the materials used. Materials with a greater temperature of...
