Preservation at positive temperatures is limited in time. The common technique to reduce metabolism is by reducing the temperature below ambient, using refrigeration or cryogenics. Therefore, these methods are used to preserve biological matter (cells, tissues, organs, vegetables, fruits etc.). Preservation at negative temperatures is possible with limitations in time and imposes also other biotechnological challenges. Long term preservation below freezing temperatures is not successful yet for organs and tissues....
