EFFECTS OF HYDROPOWER RESERVOIRS ON HYDROLOGY OF TWO ADJACENT KARST SPRINGS

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-11-20, Damir Jukić)

The Cetina River is situated in the Dinaric karst area of Croatia. It is a valuable ecological resource because of the existence of numerous rare ecosystems and landscapes. On the other hand, the water is used for drinking purpose, electricity production, industry and irrigation, so the quantity and quality of water is influenced by human impacts. During the period between 1960 and 1985, five hydropower plants were built, which strongly influenced natural regime of the river and the whole area. This paper presents...

A THEORETICAL BASIS FOR APPLICATION OF PARTIAL CORRELATION FUNCTIONS IN HYDROLOGICAL SYSTEM ANALYSIS WITH REFERENCE TO KARST

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Damir Jukic, Vesna Denic-Jukic)

This paper investigates a theoretical aspect of application of partial correlation functions in hydrological system analysis. The functioning of hydrological system is simulated with the conceptual mathematical model consisting of series of linear reservoirs where the inputs are synthetic time series representing rainfall on catchment and the resulting output time series represents the discharge from spring. The partial correlation functions are calculated for the input and output time series describing specific h...

HIGHER-ORDER PARTIAL CROSS-CORRELATION FUNCTION AS A TOOL FOR INVESTIGATING HYDROLOGICAL RELATIONS IN KARST

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Vesna Denic-Jukic, Ana Kadic, Damir Jukic)

This paper demonstrates the practical applicability of higher-order partial cross-correlation function in hydrological system analysis. The study area is the karst hydrological system of two adjacent karst springs Jadro and пїЅrnovnica situated in the Dinaric karst of Croatia. The subject of interest is the hydrological relation between these two springs and three basins located in the central part of Jadro Spring catchment. The relation is investigated by the higher-order partial cross-correlation function betwee...
