The aim of this paper is to propose an improved algorithm for estimating the risk of bankruptcy of the Bulgarian insurance companies. The algorithm is developed based on the multi-layers neural arhitecture with input dates represented by values of indicators from the financial statements of Bulgarian insurances companies.
