Water discharges, suspended load and hydrochemistry for 35 inflows of largest Caucasian Lake Sevan were measured 3 times in different hydrological seasons during 2024 and 2025. During summer most of small streams dried out while in winter a number of rivers were frozen into the bottom. The water discharges varied from 0.01 in summer to 8.02 m3/sec in spring. Large natural inflows are Argichi, Dzknaget, Gavaraget, Masrik rivers with water discharges in spring 8.0, 6.3, 4.5, 2.8 m3/sec correspondingly. By the end of...

This study provides a characterization of the Holocene sedimentary processes in Lake Urasar (Lori plateau, Armenia). Lake Urasar is less than 0.1 sq. km with 8.5 m max. depth. 2 m -long sediment core was retrieved by using peat corer in the deepest part of the lake during summer 2023. Obtained core was a subject for detailed lithological description and XRF-scanning. Three lithological units are identified in the sediment sequence reflecting different sedimentation patterns. Unit I (200 - 164 cm) characterized by ...

LATE PLEISTOCENE AND HOLOCENE PALEOHYDROLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL HISTORY AS INFERRED FROM LAKE TAYMYR TERRACES STUDIES (TAYMYR PENINSULA, RUSSIAN ARCTIC)

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-11-20, Grigory Fedorov)

Lake Taymyr is largest lake in Eurasian Arctic. Late Quaternary environmental history of the area has been studied extensively during the last decades. However, Late Pleistocene and Holocene history of Lake Taymyr itself remain uncertain. More information concerning lake-level changes and climate conditions can be obtained by studying lake terraces. During summer 2016, several outcrops of Lake Taymyr terraces (10-m high and 25-m high terraces) deposits have been investigated. Here we present the results of litholo...
